Ben Adams

Ben has over 30 seasons under his belt teaching skiing. He has worked in many roles within the industry. He has a wealth of experience as an instructor and has been the most requested private lesson instructor at many resorts in which he has worked.

Ben also has many seasons of training people to become ski instructors and training instructors to be more proficient at skiing and teaching. He has worked in this role for many top instructor training programs including the Rookie Academy, Cardrona Instructor Training Centre and Snowtrainers. He is a trainer and examiner for the New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance, the New Zealand national organisation for certifying snowsport instructors. He trains and certifies instructors for both ski and adaptive divisions within the NZSIA as well as exams for instructors specializing in teaching children.

Ben is also an experienced race coach and has coached in numerous ski areas including coaching for the Mammoth Ski Team and Cardrona Alpine Ski Team. Ben coaches both able bodied and adaptive ski racing and can be found in New Zealand working for the High Performance Centre in Cardrona when not in Furano. One of Ben's roles at Cardrona consists of training the adaptive race program which caters for many of the world's top adaptive athletes. He has trained athletes from the British, Korean and New Zealand Paralympic teams. Ben has worked teaching skiing in New Zealand, USA, Canada, France, Switzerland, Austria and Japan.

Hisayuki Kojima

Kojima started ski racing when he was 7 years old and raced for the next 16 years. After which he decided to switch and took up snowboard racing and won the Japanese National Championship 3 times. He was a member of the national team for 6 years and competed at World Championship and World Cup. After retiring from his racing career he became a high school teacher. He formed the first Japanese school snowboard team and promoted snowboarding to Japanese sports education. He founded Kojima Academy in Furano in 2002 and focused on his snowboard racing program. His program coached young snowboard athletes from around the world in Japan, New Zealand and Europe. He had a total of 6 athletes that went to Salt Lake City Olympics, Torino Olympics, and Vancouver Olympics. He again enjoyed olympic success with an athlete gaining a silver medal at the Sochi olympic games.



Jan Vokaty

Jan has a total of 22 winters of teaching and coaching experience. He is fully certified with APUL (Czech Republic) and PSIA (USA). Jan also holds USSA Coaching level 100 and NZSIA Coaching Level 2 (Performance Coach) certifications. Jan was born in Czech Republic. He grew up in a small ski village in the Czech mountains. His parents introduced him to ski team and ski racing at 4 years of age and he ski raced on a local skiteam until he was about 16 years old. Jan began teaching skiing in 1995. In just two seasons, he completed his level 1, 2 and 3 instructor’s certifications and became ISIA certified. In 1997 Jan became a member of the Czech National Demo Team and APUL examiner. He has spent 7 winters working as an instructor and staff trainer in Europe. In 2002 he went to New Zealand and spent 4 seasons teaching skiing and 3 seasons coaching with Cardrona HPC Alpine Ski Team. 2004 was Jan’s first winter working in the USA. He spent 7 seasons working for Mammoth Mountain, first 3 as a ski instructor and staff trainer and last 4 working for Mammoth Mountain Ski Team as a coach. After getting his Australian permanent residency Jan started working for Perisher Ski School. On his days off you can find Jan free skiing or taking photos of ski racing, powder skiing or free style skiers and snowboarders.


Naoko Adams

Naoko originally comes from Osaka, Japan. She went to overseas to study when she was 17 year old. She studied in U.S.A and Australia. She went to New Zealand to get NZSIA qualified when she was still a University student. After she finished her degree, she decided to become a professional ski instructor. She worked in Mammoth Mountain in America for 4 years, and is now working in New Zealand and Japan. She is a fully internationally certified instructor. She worked till 2010 winter season with the local Japanese government as trainer and trained local Japanese instructors in Furano and Tomamu. She got “Instructor of the year at Cardrona in 2012 and nominated in 2013 for the “New Zealand Instructor of the Year”. She has over 20 seasons experience. She speaks fluent Japanese and English. She worked with a Japanese magazine as translator and interpreter. Her love for skiing is only eclipsed by her love for FOOD and SHOPPING!!



Rebecca Vokaty

Originally from Austrailia Rebecca has worked in almost every continent teaching skiing. Rebecca is fully internationally certified and holds PSIA level 3 certification. Rebecca teaches all ages and ability levels from adults through to Kids. She has been one of the most requested instructors at every resort she has worked in. Rebecca holds the advanced children certification and is recognised as a specialist in this area, she has trained staff at many ski schools around the globe how to produce more effective childrens lessons. Everyone enjoys her lessons regardless of age. Rebecca also is certified with the NZSIA as a race coach.



Jiří Nohejl

Jiri started skiing when he was 3 years old, but he developed his passion for skiing while attending high school. In first years of his undergraduate studies at University of Economics he decided to purse a career as a ski instructor and enrolled in APUL Level 1 Ski Instructor course in Pec pod Snezkou in beautiful Czech mountains.

Since than he has more than 15 seasons of full-time teaching experience under his belt and he is now a member of 3 world top ski instructor associations: APUL (Czech Republic), NZSIA (New Zealand) and TSLV (Austria). Since 2010 he is full member of APUL Trainer/Examiner Team and he recently became member of APUL Technical Committee. He represented Czech Republic at Interski Congress 2011 in Sankt Anton as a member of delegation and demoteam.

Jiri has worked all over the world. His teaching and ski instructor training experience is from Czech Republic (Pec pod Snezkou and Harrachov), Austria (Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis), Australia (Perisher), New Zealand (Cardrona) and USA (Burke Mountain). He now works for Cardrona Snowsports as Ski Instructor and Trainer. During north hemisphere winter season he works with APUL as Senior Examiner, with Furano International Snowsports School and also as a freelance ski instructor, trainer and coach in Europe and US.





Jana Melkusova

Jana started skiing almost at the same time as she could walk, because her father was a passionate ski instructor. She loved skiing ever since and when she ran to the opportunity to became ski instructor, she didn’t hesitate a minute.

Jana is talented skier and together with her amazing personality it makes her a great ski instructor. She has taught skiing all around the world and she has skied a countless number of resorts. She has worked in the Czech Republic, Australia, Austria, New Zealand and USA.

Claire Craig

Claire started snowboarding a little later in life when she was introduced to it in her early 20’s through a college course back in Scotland. Quickly becoming hooked, she soon picked it up and left her inner city life behind to follow the snow and travel the globe teaching snowboarding.

Claire has done back to back winter seasons, in Europe, Argentina, North America, New Zealand and now Japan! She is an all-rounder, and can teach adults, children, beginners to advanced riders, groups and one-to-one.

Her passion for this sport really comes through in her lessons and when you meet her you are instantly put at ease and in for a great time!
